Frequently Asked Questions |
I get e-mails everyday from people asking me about the site. Hopefully, if you have a question, it will be answered below. If not, you can contact me via the email link on the home page. |
"Do you do this for a living?"
No. I actually work as a graphics desinger for a HVAC controls company. I build 3d models of air handlers, AC units, boilers, etc.

"Do you have a template for the helmets on your site?"
Yes. The template I use was created by a guy called Thornbird. It is a Photoshop template file with many layers. What you see on my site is a heavily modified and customized version. You can go to his website, www.thornbird.net, to download the original version. It us under the "Downloads" section. I've put a lot of time and work into my helmets to get them looking like I like. I can't give away my secrets, but the template he created is great place to start.

This question has many answers depending on the logo I'm looking for. Most of the major leagues and big colleges are easliy available in many places in the internet. For a lot of the smaller colleges and high schools, I've had to get creative. I make a lot of logos from scratch in Photoshop based on photographs or images found online. I do get many logos sent to me from visitors to my site. I've also had some success by simply e-mailing different AD's and equipment managers. For most of the "custom" or concept helmets, I just make up a logo and create it using Photoshop or Illustrator.

"Do you do custom work and requests?"
I am always glad to take requests for custom helmets. If it's a helmet or two, I can usually put them together fairly quickly. If it's more invloved than that, I will tell you at the time of the request if I can work on it and what kind of time frame I'm working with. I get many requests and usually have a few projects going at a time. I don't charge for every little thing I do. However, if it's going to be a time-consuming project with a lot of work, I do appreciate a little something in return for my work. That is negotiable.

"Can you design logos for my fantasy team/league?"
Yes. See previous answer.

"Do you make or sell mini helmets?"
I am not a mini helmet supplier or dealer. There are many places online to get blank mini-helmets. However, I do a lot graphic and logo artwork. If you have a group, team or club that would like a large quantity of mini helmets made, I can work with you to get your decals printed and helmets made up. If you would like just one mini helmet made up, I can make some custom mini helmets and can discuss the details if you are interested.
"What do you need to put my high school on your site?"
Ideally, I would love a copy of the actual logo, but if not, I usually need good clear photographs of the helmet, preferably from the sides and front/back. If no photograph is available, I can go on a description if it's detailed enough. Bedsides that, I need the school name, nickname, city and state. The school's website URL can be helpful too, if you have it. Sometimes, I need to contact the school for help.
Getting a wallpaper made is very simple. Each one is custom-made to fit your screen and your tastes. I need the following information to build your wallpaper:
"What kind of donation do you need for your wallpapers?"
Again, since each one is custom made, I do ask for a donation to my site in return. I'm very flexible on this. Whatever you think is fair is usually fine with me. I won't refuse to do one if you don't give a donation, but these do take time to build and a little appreciation would be nice.
The posters I mentioned are 8x10 or 11x17 print-outs on glossy paper ready to frame and can be laminated if you choose. Since this involves printing, laminating and mailing costs, I ask $20 per poster request. Obviously there are discounts if you get more than one at a time.
"When will you add a ______ section?
I get asked a lot to add different sections and pages to the site. I am always trying to think of new sections and things to add to the current ones. Here are the most common ones and my answers:
I hope this page answered your question. If not, feel free to contact me.
